Colorful Metal Cabinets for my Kitchen

One of my favorite parts in the house is the kitchen because I love cooking a lot. I never consider any dull moments whenever I am in my kitchen. It is where you would always find me enjoying all the time. I always make sure that everything looks good, organized and clean.

Lately, I saw the kitchen of my friend which has a metal cabinets hanged up above the sink and I got an idea of putting something like that on my kitchen. I heard of metal cabinets popularly used these days that would look like a stainless steel or in colors matching the kitchen. And it is a good idea for a strong, lasting, rust-free and easy to clean caninets compared to that traditional wood type. I think I better get one now or else I would not stop thinking about it!

Nursing Blogs Around 1

Save to Google Bookmarks!
It is really nice to see blogs authored by nurses and nursing students. Reading those usual hospital and/or classroom experiences but in a different views are very awesome! Some nurses share about other than their fields and it's worth reading. I have found amazing student nurses and RN writers and linked few to here. I hope you would find time to browse their sites[... ]

Adrienne Zurub, a nurse and a a book writer which is waiting for her bestseller book titled "NOTES FROM THE MOTHERSHIP THE NAKED INVISIBLES" to be launched. My Blogging Thoughts by Angel Noah, a nurse but preffered to enjoy her married life. KR SAID is authored by my friend Karol Ronie eho is now in California as a MS nurse. He talks about his experiences with the students when he was a clinical instructor and his adventures now as a US Licensed NURSE. Another one is Student Nurses' Notes by Tsaiko dedicated to all nursing students. If you are looking for a job then try visiting Jobs For Nurses which has a collections of jobs available for, of course, nurses.

This is the part 1, so definitely part 2 will come and it will not stop until there are nurses out there who want to share what's on their mind by blogging!

Understanding Yin-Yang

Yin-Yang of Chinese often part in dealing with transcultural nursing. So what is this Yin-yang diet is all about? Yin-Yang is a pair. Yin is a complimentary to Yang and vice versa. Yin repels Yin, Yang repels Yang. One exist with another. Chinese believes that everything in nature has its opposites. In psychology, Yang is the leader and Yin is the follower. In temperature, Yin is cold, Yang is hot. In tendency, Yin is contraction, Yang is constriction. They believe that when someone has a fever (hot), one needs cold for treatment. Anything that comes out from the body is Yin. Anything goes in is Yang. Example, If someone has diarrhea (Yin) you need fluid replacement (Yang). Bringing back things into balance is what Yin-Yang is all about.

Example of Yin Foods: Milk, Alcohol, Honey, Sugar, Oil, Fruit juices, Spices, Stimulants, Most drugs (such as aspirin), Tropical vegetables and fruits.

Example of Yang foods: Poultry, Seafood, Eggs, Meat, Salt, Fish, Cheese.

Yin-Yang diet is often a topic in NCLEX. Understanding diverse culture means providing the right care for our patients.

I am a PayPerPost Blogger

I started blogging not even knowing that I could make money out of it. Until I started to realize the income that I can generate by sharing my views to everyone, and it can only happen at PayPerPost!

When I received an email from them that my blog was approved, I was delighted! My friend gave me the idea that I could make money with my blog and shared the website address of PayPerPost. When I saw how much PayPerPost is paying her, I was envious! So I submitted my blog, waited for the approval, and here I am now doing the very first opportunity from them. Now, I can say that I am one of those “paid bloggers” as they call themselves. PayPerPost never runs out of opportunities. Every now and then there is always new coming. And I can choose which opportunity I want to post in my blog. So if I am just very diligent in posting, then I can make big bucks out of it. And its Christmas time once again, so I have extra money to buy gifts for my family and friends.

I am happy that thru blogging I can share my thoughts to everyone out there, but I am more pleased knowing that I can make money while doing what I really like, which is writing.

Recommended Nursing Sites

Nurses today give so much time and effort in reviewing for the NCLEX-RN. Some enrolled in various review centers while others opted for a self-review. Whatever ways you chooses, it will work the same. It is only a matter of how you assess your capabilities in passing the test.

There are some blogs here which I recommend to visit so that you will have a wide range of knowledge on what this so called NCLEX is all about: Drop by at Nurse review.org for NLE and NCLEX stuff, Nursing Jobs, and some other related articles. Try visiting Philippine Nurse too for similar posts and this blog also has an online quiz to shake your brain cells. Another interesting site is Pinoy R.N. which has an up-to-date nursing news, information and articles, and an online forum for Filipino nurses. Look into Pinoy Nurses Zone for some sample NCLEX Q and A. I have also some materials here for you. Maybe this can give a little help.

Don't just rely on what materials that were given to you. Search the Internet, visit some websites, go to nursing forums to get the latest updates and fresh news about the exam. Be prepared. Answer as many Q and A as you can. Challenge yourself. Strive hard. It will be more rewarding when you finally see that "PASS" result.

It's Time to Make Money while Blogging

When I learned that I can make money with my blog, I got engrossed. I started searching the Internet on how I can join. And at the same time I am thinking if I can meet the expectations of the advertisers or do I have to write something far from my interests?

I discovered Blogsvertise. They pay while you enjoy writing what you like. Yes, you heard me right!

Here are the very exciting reasons why you should register at Blogsvertise:

1. Promotion or mentioning of the advertiser’s services, products, website is not necessary. When given a task, write about anything you want! You can blog about love, life, funny moments, etc. The requirement is just placing 3 links to the website url to your post.

2. The blogger is given 5 days to do the assigned task and with a minimum of only 75 words in atleast 2-3 paragraphs. So it means that you have a lot of time to do the post.

3. Why wait after three months before you register your blog? If you think that your blog is very interesting and you have so many readers, go and add it up, in Blogsvertise, one month old blog is enough. (some young blog may be subject to probationary status.)

4. And wating period for blog approval is usually 24 hours or less.

It's time your blog to have some profit!

Bridge Amendment Debate Started

New update from Hammond Law Group

Bridge Amendment offered - two actually!

Two different versions of the Bridge amendment – either of which would eliminate retrogression for Schedule A workers – were offered in the Senate over the weekend. Both amendments could be debated this week, perhaps as early as today. If formally passed and attached to the base bill, either amendment would have to be acted on by the House of Representatives, likely through the Conference Committee. After Conference, if the amendment survives, the entire bill would have to be approved by President Bush. Still, the mere offering of the amendments is a significant step in the legislative process, and significantly raises the chances of ending the retrogression of Schedule A workers [...]

The first, SA 3404 to HR 3043, seeks to amend the forthcoming Labor Health and Human Services appropriations bill, by recapturing 61,000 unused visas for Schedule A workers and their derivative family members. SA 3404 is co-sponsored by long-time champions Sen. Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Hutchison (R-TX).

The second, SA 3442, is also offered as an amendment to HR 3403. SA 3442 is a much more comprehensive amendment that seeks to recapture visas for not just Schedule A workers and their derivative family members, but also for conventional EB workers.

The purpose of offering two amendments is to hedge the bets of the champions. We'll know shortly if their strategy works. Debate on the two amendments could start as soon as today, so stay tuned to the blog and CSPAN2.

Wanted: Nurses

I was at Mandaluyong this afternoon and visited an agency for some clarification with regards to their hiring for Nurses as NCLEX Trainer in UAE. The agency is just along Edsa crossing SM MEGAMALL which is not difficult to locate. I met Sir Rajesh, the Manager for TEAM HEALTHCARE RECRUITMENT, INC. and as well as their Clinical Adviser/CGFNS-NCLEX trainer Ms. Nida Canero. They were so nice and I felt very welcomed. I stayed there for awhile and I might say that they are accomodating.

The agency is hiring Nurses and PT's for USA and the employer is coming very soon. They also provide free CGFNS/NCLEX and IELTS review for the qualified applicants. Their head office is located in Princeton, New Jeresey and offices in UK, India, UAE and of course here in the Philippines.

For more information you can click here to visit their website.

Things You Need to Know when Taking NCLEX

For those who are about to take NCLEX, this might help you.

1. Bring the following to the testing site and present to the pearsonvue staff:
  • passport (Don't forget to sign it or else you will not be allowed to take the test, your signature should be the same with the signature you had in the application form.) and another form of identification.
  • copy of your ATT(Authority to Take the Test)

2. DO NOT bring:

  • jacket (it is useless because they will not allow you to wear one inside)

3. As much as possible, leave your unnecessary things at home or at the hotel. Lockers provided is not as spacious as you thought.

4. Empty your pockets. Don't bring anything during the test except for your passport.

5. At this point, relax. Don't try to recall what you've studied. It is useless.

6. After the routine procedure of identification, you are assigned to a computer. Wait for further instruction from the examiner. Start only when you are told to do so.

7. You have a maximum of 265 questions and 5 hours to take the test and that includes the 10-minute introductory computer tutorial. If you are familiar with computer skip this to save time but if you are nervous, I suggest you take the tutorial for you to relax.

8. Remember, there is no turning back. if you miss the correct answer, you're sorry. You cannot return to the previous number and change it. So better analyze the question carefully before pressing that "next" button.

9. The first 75 items of the test is the crucial stage.Try to answer these items at your very best.

10. Try to relax as much as possible so that you can think. If you are confused with the 2 possible correct answers (which is very common in NCLEX), PRAY for guidance. This is what I did.

11. There is an optional break after 2 hours. Don't be alarm. Take the break if you are tense. Continue answering if you don't want to lose your momentum.

12. Computer will automatically shut down anytime after test question number 75. This means that the computer already determined if you reach or did not reach the standard.

13. After the test, there is a mandatory survey questions for you to answer. And then your done.

14. Raise your hand and wait for the examiner to approach you before you can leave the room.

15. If anytime during the test you have problems, questions, or if you want to take a break (after the optional break), do not leave your seat and just raise your hand and then tell the examiner what you want. Remember that your time is running and it cannot be stopped whatever reason once you begin the test.

16. Silently, get your things at the locker, go out from the area and never wait your friend inside the pearsonvue office/testing site.

Good luck!

Filipino's Pride!

I spent my afternoon at SM Mall of Asia with a friend who came from Davao city. There was an event at the mall's atrium and we found out that it was a welcome program for the Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao. My friend idolizes him so much so he really tried to see him from second floor even for a moment. I told my friend that I would be waiting at Seattle's best coffee shop which is near where he was standing. I admire Manny for his way of giving pride to us Filipinos but not because I am a fan of boxing whatsoever.
So we settled and had our order when suddenly, I saw a camera set up at one corner in Seattle's Best. I told my friend that maybe they will have their live interview there. And I was right! Manny and the group came inside the coffee shop and my friend don't know what to do. Seattle's Best were temporarily closed to avoid crowding of people inside and for security purposes as well. Now, people are surrounding outside the shop trying to take a glimpse of their idol and took some pictures. I wasn't expecting how lucky me and my friend was! I guess there are only 5 customers who were there before Manny's group came.
We waited for awhile until they finished the interview and I stood and approached him. I ask him politely if I could take a picture with him and he took my cellphone and kiddingly tried to take a picture of me! I told him that I want to take a picture with him... Everyone at the shop laughed! I positioned at his side and he insisted that he should take the picture with me. And he did it twice because the first time he took was blurred. I can say that he is nice. My friend was jumping for joy because he saw his ultimate idol..
Like Manny Pacquiao, Filipina nurses also are Filipino's pride. We are saving lives and we are also equally world class like Manny. We deserve to have better impression as well.

"Silly I was..."

I was going through my stuff and sorting what to keep and to give away when I found my nclex notes. I recall how I passed it a year ago. I say it was one of my greatest fulfilments. I was not a very good nursing student though. I always struggle hard to pass return demonstrations and written examinations. As I browse my notes, I remember how silly I was to do self review. But I realized now that the feeling of foolishness pushed me to study more and more. I challenged myself. I compete with my inner voice that said You are not a brilliant girl to be confident enough to trust yourself in studying.” That inner feeling brought pressure to me to prove to myself that I can. Yes, it was tough to bear I put all my notes in a box and decided to save it. This is my treasure. This will remind me that I can do things as long as I believe that I can. This will take me back to that same old silly feeling. This will give me strength if something will make me weak. Along the way I may fail. I know that. I am used to that. I won’t give up. I believe that everything comes in a right place and at a right time for everyone.

Desperate Housewives against Filipino Doctors

I love watching Desperate Housewives so much. But hearing Teri Hatcher delivers the line without hesitation really disappointed me. I don't know why some people needs to insult other nationality without thinking its effect on both sides. Filipinos are strong enough not to be affected by this kind of discrimination especially Doctors and Nurses. We are excellent professionals and the world knows that! Only Teri Hatcher and their producers doesn't know!

What Could Be The Ultimate Gift?

What do you think would be the ultimate gift you want to receive? In a split second, I know that it would be something material, as what I first thought too when I read the title of the movie I just recently watched... "The Ultimate Gift".
The plot of the story is very typical "rich grandpa died- family fought for the will-conditions should be met..." but what makes it a little different is that the grandfather has a special will for his spoiled brat grandson Jayson whom he never given attention before he died. Along with the testament was a series of tasks for Jayson before he can get what his grandfather left for him.
His grandfather called the tasks as the "series of gifts" and eventually, Jayson can have his what he called as The Ultimate Gift. By doing the tasks, Jayson learn a lot from life in which was his grandfather's real intention for him to do.
Jayson met a single mom, Alexia with a sick child, Emily who has leukemia. Alexia and Emily help Jayson to reset his life back and taught him how to become selfless.
The movie touches me a lot because it does not only entertained me but actually gave me points to ponder. It made me think that there are a lot more things that really make sense than having all the comforts in life. I know I sound so common or familiar but we need movies like The Ultimate Gift to shake us that"Hey!" we need to enrich our soul to be complete. To give importance to all the things that surrounds us. To give meaning to our life.
The movie is a not that serious as you think. Jayson, Emily and Grandpa are funny. You will definitely love the movie if you haven't seen it on the big screen.

"Jason thought his inheritance was the gift of money and lots of it... but Jason thought wrong. Based on the best-selling book "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall, the story sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: "What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?" Jason had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole "reading of the will" thing would be another simple cash transaction. He figured that his Grandfather's money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but... simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls "gifts," each challenging Jason in an improbable way, the accumulation of which would change him forever."
