Desperate Housewives against Filipino Doctors

I love watching Desperate Housewives so much. But hearing Teri Hatcher delivers the line without hesitation really disappointed me. I don't know why some people needs to insult other nationality without thinking its effect on both sides. Filipinos are strong enough not to be affected by this kind of discrimination especially Doctors and Nurses. We are excellent professionals and the world knows that! Only Teri Hatcher and their producers doesn't know!

Yeah, truly "desperate" attempt on their part to go down so low as to make a racist derogatory remark. Shame on them!

I am a Filipino and I am not a fan of the show Desperate Housewives. From what I have read on this post and reading the 'exact' excerpt that has spawned the ire of my coutrymen, I don't see the line as racist. In fact I think it does reflect the sad fact that the Philippine medical academic system needs to work harder to gain more trust from foreign patients. It's a wake-up call for us. In fact I am more ashamed of what a lot of my people are impressing on the perception of foreigners. Sad to say many Filipinos talk too much.

In my opinion, that segment of Desperate Housewives is actually a constructive criticism.

ha crazy ABC and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. what's funny is that Terri Hatcher's parents are Physicians..and for her to pull off a joke like that. WOW. all i say is that ABC and the cast and crew of Desperate Housewives need to do MORE than apologize.

I don't get it. You guys get so offended by this? why? it's her character. I do not think it was meant as a diss on filipinos, but more a reminder of Susan's ditzy character.

Plus, dont forget... filipinos are making money off of American songs without even paying royalties to the artists. Filipino's are copying american shows and making money off of them.. So until filipino's either stop copying American songs or pay royalties to American artists, i don't think filipino's can make a big deal out of this.
